Took the Charger out for a nice cruise today. Warmest, dryest day so far here in the NW. I drove in to work, got an alignment on my lunch break, man it drives SOOO much better!  Had pulled a bit to the left. Then I enjoyed a 2 hour cruise after work!  Longest voyage ever!  Man, it was fun; got some great smiles per mile.

I found a place in Auburn, WA.  Brent's Alignment and Repair  Went to a performance speed shop in Auburn, but they didn't do alignments; said they sent all their work to Brent's.

It was a top notch experience.  My right front was way out of whack.  I explained that I've replaced all the bushings, tie rods, and ball joints; had the ride height at a level I wanted, but that they probably didn't match side to side. ( was about 3/8" off)  Also explained that I had trouble the last time I tried to get an alignment.  I went to Les Schawb...   :brickwall:  They stripped out the torsion bar adjuster bolts!  Tried adjusting without taking the weight of the LCA.   :brickwall:  The tech said I was the 2nd guy this week from Les Schwab!!   :o  My experience with Schwab was about 10 months ago though.

Anyway, he said everything sounded fine.  I jokingly asked if he knew the propper way to adjust the height.   :scratchchin:
I even asked if I could watch, he said sure!  Although then he was talking more than working....    I decided I had to make a "phone call."  Great guy though, fully understood that she was my baby.

A little over an hour later, good to go!  Only $59.95 too!  They had told me over the phone if my suspension was stock, it'd be that rate; otherwise $85 an hour.  If I have other work that is outside my realm, I think I've found a place.
I'm thrilled, car drives great!   :2thumbs:

I'm thinking I'm going for a hat trick this weekend!  I haven't had mine really roadworthy yet.  Freaking cool man!  I'm digging the attention!  Well, not ALL the attention.  I'm working on my brake lights, only one currently lights up.  I was sitting at a light waiting to turn left, Kent PD approaches the intersection across from me, to turn right.  Long story short, he ends up pulling in behind me at the gas station.  Pulls up along side, asks if I got a 440!

He used to own a 68 Charger, 383 when he was 17.  It was all sorts of colors including rust.  We BS'd for 10 minutes, and I'm waiting for the warning about the tail light...  He hands me his car and says to call him if I ever want to sell it!  Ah man, made me laugh.

grdprx

I snapped a pic while waiting for the Charger to get worked on.  Had a spring shower including hail on my way over to the shop!  I also got showered on when I took the car in for exhaust year!
I was joking with my co-worker, "it's a sign, she doesn't like other men touching her!"

Fred

Always good to hear someone's having a good day.

The only attention I don't like is when they slow down in front of me to check the car out in their rear view mirror. Means I have to slow down too.   :eek2:

Tomorrow is promised to no one.......drive your Charger today.

myk

I'm glad you got to enjoy your car, 'OP.  My car is still sitting in body shop limbo.  Leave it up to me to send the car away just as the cruise nights started up agian... ::)

Whereabouts?
Here in Sacramento, it was clear but still a little chilly for April. I had the Charger out as well. I pulled the howling 4.10 gears out and slipped in a 3.91 chunk, and was quite happy to find that these gears are Q U I E T !! fantastic... now I can hear the new stereo OVER the engine! Today was the first drive looking through the new windshield. There are 2 small defects in the lower left corner, but I'm not going to dwell on that. The rest of the glass is perfect. The car ran great, sounded great. Things are pretty good here.

Saturday here and my birthday as well, so I only painted the front drums, cleaned up the rest of the garage and set about sorting the rest of the parts for the suspension bushes and bits and then a mate came over in his 58 Fury so we drank some bourbons  :2thumbs:

Real Good Saturday

Glad you found a good shop to do work for you. I don't like Schwabs myself, they sold me some tires and they were leaking, took them back and they "fixed" and they still leaked. Then I took them to Discount tire and they actually fixed leak FREE of charge even though they didn't sell me these tires. Schwabs needs to learn about customer service rather than selling batteries and giving you free beef-if I want beef I'll go to local grocery store. I just want good tires from a tire shop, is that too much to ask for these days?!

Hey there!
I have been to their shindig 3 times, but not with the car. My buddy used to live in Redding. He has a black 71 Challenger with a 340/416. He moved to Grass Valley.
Its too bad that the Redding show coincides with the LA Spring Fling. THAT show is Mecca for me. I go every spring and most every fall. Its THE place to go in CA for a Mopar swap meet. I'm always working on some project, and the wrecking yards are drying up with 67-76 A bodies.
The Kool April Nites Friday cruise is a cool thing... All those rumbling cars on the streets of Redding. Very cool! One year at the show, I saw a crowd around a nice orange 71 Charger. I walked up and said..."Nice car, what year IS your MUSTANG?" It was like time froze! EVERYone within earshot skidded to a stop and turned to look at the idiot that called the car a Ford. It cracked me up.  The owner looked stunned, then he GOT the joke and laughed with me. I wonder if my joke ever made it into that "Whats the silliest thing you ever heard about your Charger" thread!

   I bet it did make it into that post, you know when people are listening even if they look preoccupied. the Redding cruise is a nice one

A good day cruising alright. Mostly I see only mustangs (they're a dime a dozen) on a good day I might encounter some hotrods.
The only time I ever see a good lot of Mopars is on the way to a car show.

Day 3 cruising, took the family over to our friend's house for Easter Dinner.  "Dad, your Charger is FAST!"  My daughter says this as I'm doing 25 mpg.... I said it's loud Zoe!

Took my buddy out in the Charger for a spin, he said it wasn't kicking down.  I thought it was cuz I need a new TQ converter.  I dropped it in 1st and laid my first strip of rubber.   :2thumbs:

Been a great 3 days of cruising, I figure I'm a hair over 100 miles this weekend.
