For those of you that have seen my threads on cars I've done the body/paint on,that was a shop I rented for 17 years,I know ,wow !!! Back in 2003 I built an addition off my orig detached garage at my house forward attaching to the house, and adding living space above it.I was supposed to be out of the shop I rented long ago,but that did'nt happen. Finally Oct 2011 was my last month there, and man let me tell you,the things/stuff,junk you aquire now that you have to move it all, spring cleaning was an understatement.
I had 2 cars in the back, orig garage,my Cuda and 70 GS.Made it real easy, sold the GS,but rolled the Cuda into the front ,new, garage. This orig garage was not intended to be sheetrocked ever,so I had to add alot of framing in the ceiling. So,in late Nov started the work in there, framed out/braced up the ceiling, ripped all the old wiring out, rewired with the new wiring I brought from the new 200 amp panel in the new addition, insulated, sheetrocked, taped, painted.
Then cleaned the heck out of the floor and did a two part epoxy to it for easy sweeping, cleanup, durability, etc.
Installed my compressor, air line, new lights, exhaust fan in the wall, bench, etc.Keeping things alittle more organized now.
Could'nt wait for this day to come!!!Now walk right out of my kitchen, thru one garage ,right into another garage for working in,without getting the clean cars on the other side dirty. The only thing is the lifts are out in that garage ,but thats for mechanical, not bodywork, sanding and such.
The other great thing that I was wondering was how it would be affected,is the new front garage has radiant floor heat that I keep at 65,so far,the coldest that we have had, with the door closed to the back garage,it keeps that at mid 50's to 60 with no heat on back there. When I do turn on heat back there,it gets to mid 70's real quick.
Now even more exciting I also finally got to start on something for myself again,my 3x9 Charger is underway.I'll make a thread on that later.
Some garage pics......
