That's some trip alright especially with the trailer load but I guess you managed it.
We went from Colorado Springs to Aspen over the Great Divide and Independance Pass, elevation 12oooft and even though it didn't seem that steep we noticed it when the rental car (Ford Taurus) just kept getting slower and slower and the engine started to heat up. It was touch and go there for a bit and I was getting really worried we weren't going to make it. There were plenty of cars pulled over on the shoulder with their hoods up. Boy was I glad to see the other side of that Mountain.

THe scenery though, made up for it. SPECTACULAR!

Yeah we have very fine sand here, never had a problem with it sticking when dry. The car barely got a spec on it driving along that track.

Yep, we stopped and turned around, he said he was on a trek across Australia, West Coast to East Coast, for charity. Had taken him 6 weeks just to get to there and he still had thousands of kms to go! I showered him in tire smoke as we left, hope it didn't get caught in his helmet  . Have seen him on the news since, once when he was about halfway across, and again when he reached the Eastern states.
