I fdirst herd of Willie from a Chevy guy who was my nieghbor when I was a kid must have been 40 years ago.  I guess your correct.  If you are not a car guy from the 7os you may have no reason to have known Willie.

Big Willie inspired many of us old street racers and a lot of car clubs that are still around . i heard he just had part of his foot cut off  due to diabetes .
