Do you Megacab owners still like them?

My dad left one to his estate an 08 with only 16K miles.  I'm trying to decide whether to sell, trade, or keep it.  I have an Avalanche I like a lot and dont really need the Dodge.  He also left an 05 Chevy 4dr short bed with only 10500 miles.  Still smells like new and just sat in the garage but the brother is getting it. It seems like a big hassle trying to drive around smaller parking lots etc but just curious if anyone has kept theirs a long time and likes it still.

megacabs are badass dude...oh man if the charger was not my first priority that megacab be next in line...

Think of all the extra workers you can fit in there from the Home Depot...
[ŌŌ]ƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖ[ŌŌ] = 68
[ŌŌ][ƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖ][ƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖ][ŌŌ] = 69
(ŌŌ)[ƗƗƗƗƗƗƗƗƗƗƗƗƗƗƗƗƗƗ](ŌŌ) = 70

I've owned two of them - a 2007 and now a 2011.  The kids and anyone who uses the back LOVES the extra space.  I occasionally want to haul parts, etc. inside the cab rather than in the bed (even though I have a lockable bed cover), and it's really nice to be able to fold down the seats to create a pretty good sized flat surface.  The space behind the rear seats when they're not folded flat also allows a fair amount of stuff to be stowed out of sight, keeping the passenger compartment itself nice & neat.

The only drawback to me is just its overall length.  Even with a short box, these things are as long as a rope.  I still drive it everywhere (was in downtown St. Louis with it just yesterday), but you have to be rather selective in where you park.

The lengthy wheelbase is a little nicer while on road trips, but I can't say that benefit alone would ever be enough of a reason to keep a MC around.  If you have uses for the extra cab space, that is THE reason to keep it.

If you really do not need it I would sell it.  If it has a Cummins and is a 4X4 it will bring premium money.  If it is a gas and 2wd, not so much then. The extra seating space inside is nice vs Dodges regular four door, the downside is you can not get a 8ft bed on it.

It has the 5.7 auto 2wd with towing pk & anti-spin diff.  Original sticker was at $34370.  Its overall length is also the drawback for me.  My brother has one also and was always talking about parking issues or hassle getting around tight places which really could be worked out. The cab room is nice but my kids are all grown and got kids of their own so its just my and the wife.

my father bought one last year for his 70th birthday present! Diesel of course. He loves it. :drool5:

Parking should not be an issue.  My buddys son has one and it is roughly 1 1/2 to 2 feet shorter than my Ford crew cab long bed.  The mega cab is not any longer than a regular four door Dodge with a long bed, same frame.

Was 07 the 1st year of all the emissions junk on the cummins ? I know a guy with a 6.7 and he picked up a fair amount of mileage once he deleted the emissions junk.

20 plus mpg. . .  thats real good.  Is it stock?  I am the only one of my group of friends without a Cummins and I think most of them are getting 14 to 16 mpg.

Thanks for the replies.  It's now over at the detail shop getting spiffed up. After driving it around, it's not that tough getting around.  Just got to be more selective of where you go in close parking areas.  Stopped by a couple dealers and they said they have no problems selling them soon after they come in.  I've decided I'm going to sell it or see what kind of preferably Mopar trade I can swing with it.  Will list in the classifieds later.  Here's a pic before going to the detailers

Mega cabs are more like station wagons.  Made for the whole family.

If you have kids and are going on a camping trip etc. the extra room is nice!
