I went down to the local Mopar dealer and test drove a 2011, 392 Challenger that they've had sitting on the lot for awhile. Liked the car, I took it up to 130 mph on the highway and then smoked the tires in front of the Chevy dealer. I was pretty impressed with the front seat leg room as well as the overall ride. Just wish it didn't cost so much. Sticker price was 49K and this car was "employee priced" at 44.6K. I was quick to point out that a 2012 392 Challenger has a sticker price of 44.6K as well. Anyway, I'm considering buying one but I'm just not sure if the timing is right at this point. It was pretty pretty exciting driving a 470 HP hot rod for a change.

Lots of 2011 still sitting on the dealers lots.
Really good time to pick up a SRT for under 40K

But how would I know I wasn't getting a new one that had the crap drove out of it, tires smoked all over the place, and then given back to the dealer after the test drive  :eek2:?

Tomorrow is promised to no one.......drive your Charger today.

bull

They let you take it to 130 on a test drive? I need the contact info for that dealership.

Ghoste

Not surprisingly, dealers aren't getting too many people taking them up on their "market adjusted value" pricing schemes.  Trying to charge extra for something doesnt always pay off long term I guess.

Iceyone

The salesman's own words as he sat right there beside me was "drive it like I stole it".  :2thumbs:

I bought this car yesterday. I'll post some pictures as soon as I can figure out how to reduce the size of them. For some reason I can only reduce the size if I email.

Hmmm, the 2012 models have traction control which will not let you burn up those tires.

They didn't have that in 2011?

Iceyone

Mine has traction control too, but you can switch it on or off.

Wasn't the color I was expecting either, as I really wanted a red one. I'm told that the stripe delete "Green With Envy" paint is somewhat rare.

Wow... Spoken like a jealous little kid.  Grow up and leave the class envy crap to the politicians.
Often times the guys that talk trash about new cars are the guys that can't afford them.
