You take the vin tag off and attach it to another car.

Is THIS a real question?
These cars are held together with bolts, screws and spotwelds. It all comes apart. Anyone that has the inclination can take a totally thrashed, rusted to the roof HEMI car and remove all the VIN numbers, fender tag and every other stamped number..... THEN put them into a slant six or 318 car. THIS is one example of a REbody and it is illegal in every state of this country. Other methods? Cut out the entire front stub, doors and dash frame from a valueable car and attach it to some other car. REbody once again. How about THIS....You have a title to a burned and crushed 440-6 Challenger. YOU find a similar car and steal it from a guys garage. You cut out the numbers from the stolen car and add in the numbers from YOUR legally titled car, then sell the stolen car with legitimate numbers. It is illegal, immoral and people that do it should burn in hell.

The ad really should explain what the seller means by "REbody". In the recent years, the term has been associated with fraud and misrepresentation. If the seller means that the car has had major panel replacement or a front stub replaced, he really should explain that to avoid turning off potential buyers.

I've never taken the term "rebody" to mean anything but the fraudulent version myself.
