my charger has BROKAGN for its plate. the dmv lady asked why i told her 3 reasons. Its a dodge, so its expensive, hence im broke. its MY dodge, so its broke, and lastly, i have to pay your stupidly expensive plate fees!

she wasnt as amused as me.

over the years I've had alot of plates. in North Dakota they are cheap. I've had 5ltretr, h8trce, gottorq, zzzzzz, and a few others.

Drache

You guys are lucky. In BC if I'm not mistaken you pay a $100 fee and get to apply for five choices. If they deny all five or all are taken then you don't get your money back. Also costs $40 a year to keep the plate. Oh and on the application you have to EXPLAIN what each plate actually means.

I had "Drache" on mine for awhile. Gave it up though.

So how much does the actual vanity plate cost in your neck of the woods?

The average price here is around AU$600.00

So you don't actually pay for the plate itself? (just an application fee)
We pay for the plates (we need two, front and back) themselves, there is no application fee. There is however an annual registration fee and it's a whole lot more than $40.00.

I think it's free in Michigan.  I know for the Charger I could get a plain historical plate, a vanity plate or an original 69 plate.  The latter was $10 I think.

I personally LOVE the "Call out" plates here like, "1QKPHKR" (One quick f*cker), or "5.0 This", "Z /28 This", "Ud Lose", etc.

Does nothing but create a PITA/Everybody wants to race syndrome IMO. Someone ALWAYS pulls up beside them in the brand they are against and welds them to the pavement.

I just checked the DMV, it's $30/year for a vanity plate.

A year or so ago I ordered "DTHTR4P".

Then about a month later I got a letter from the CA DMV saying that they could not issue that plate and gave me a refund. The reason? Ostensibly because someone already has "DTHTRAP" and the '4' in mine made it too similar and may cause confusion. I tend to believe it and not that it was some sort of censorship - I got the idea from a 68 Charger I saw with "DEF TRAP" plates.

The one going on the Charger when complete (in the cabinet now) is same as my username "BY RSCO" (Bye Rosco...) - In past lives, had a Mustang with a good amount of happy gas on it with "ONDGAS" on the plate, had another one with a 520 ci pretty healty built setup (Street car at that..) that said "TRY ME". All in good fun. It is always neat to see how creative folks are with these!
