I was going to use the late 60's factory HP cast iron types.   I suppose its a gamble buying used ones.  Are there cracking issues with them like with the motor home 440 types?

I bought repros from Year one.  I have not heard of cracking issues with the late 60's H.P. units, or with the repros.

Buy used ones that aren't cracked or welded. The flange direction changed from 69 to 70....so watch out for that if you already have head pipes.

No cracking usually, but you should have them checked for warpage and have them corrected if not perfectly flat.

I snagged a nice pair of used '70-'71 HP manifolds 3 years ago @ MoPars at the Strip. bolted 'em right up & have been running 'em ever since with no problems, other than the fact that my engine runs a little hotter than it did with the headers I had on it.

BTW, I was shocked at the nice rumble you get with the stock HP manifolds. they sound better than my ol' headers, plus, they don't leak!  :Twocents:

I've never had a problem with cracking on any of the Mopar HP manifolds that I have now or have had in the past.

I had a friend that had cracks in a 70 manifold. He had a leak that would not go away. He dropped the manifold to find a good sized crack in it.

chebby manifolds are the ones what cracks, not Mopars

I had a passenger side HP with a crack, so it happens. Like stated just inspect them and if you do not see a crack or repair work go for it. Also I do not have a link but knowing the casting number for the drivers side would be worth the effort of locating.
