71 dash wiring questions......

I am sooo close to finishing this car I can taste it.  All I have left is the interior. I just recovered the dash pad with some vinyl and it looks great.  I am now reinstalling the wiring and have noticed a few issues:

It seems as though at some point the accessory circuit shorted out.  There is a burn mark on the fuse block where the red wire was but the wire is gone.  The wrap has been removed as well as the wire.  It got fairly hot as there is some melted red plastic on a few other wires.  I checked the rest of the harness out and it seems fine other than that.  My question is where and what does that wire connect to?  I see a pink wire with a red stub coming out of an angled boot.  But it seems like there has to be another connection.  Also, does anyone have a photo of how it gets wrapped up?  Can I get a new dash harness?  I can't seem to find one anywhere....

Interesting. So you're replacing a stock wiring harness with a new modern one. I'd be very interested on how hard that is to do and how it turns out.

yep im interested too lol ...im tired of trying to figure out my crappy wiring i ordered new gauges too so why not update the wiring
