Question, are the 1968 R/T sure-grip rear ends Dana 6os???

Ghoste

No.  Dana is the manufacturer and 60 is their model name for a differential that Chrysler used.  The Sure Grip limited slip portion was optional.  There was more than one supplier for the Sure Grip unit as well over the years and the option was offered through a number of available final drives.
The Dana 60 featured a 9.75 inch diameter ring gear.  The 8 3/4 we talk of so much here was not made by Dana and the ring was 8.75 in diameter just as a point of comparison.

Also  -  All 68 (and other year) R/T's with 4 speeds would have automatically come with a Dana. All Dana's were sure-grip equipped.

By R/T we are talking 440 or 426 equipped cars.

Dana was optional in that instance but 8.75 was standard.  When you look at the differential from behind your car, does it have nuts holding a cover onto the axle housing?  That would be a Dana 60 style, if you have an axle housing that is all smooth across the back and the nuts are on the front of the housing holding the complete differential assembly into the housing, that would 8.75 style.

1968 8 3/4 Clutch Sure-Grip is named Dana Power Lock.

You're right, they didn't switch to the Auburn cone until 69.
