Wow. You just watched Someone die.
Why do people tape driving anyway?
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

I felt physically ill for a minute.  That was horrible.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

Indygenerallee

I would say the tape was most likely a deliver driver for a large company, I know alot of trucking and smaller delivery type services are putting cameras in their vehicles to see how the driver is driving, just like the GPS units and the older "hows my driving call 1-800-bugoff"   I know insurance has a lot to do with it!

Yes, speed was definitely a factor.   You could tell traffic was moving good by the lines going by on the road.

Tomorrow is promised to NOBODY . . . .

cavemanno1

OMG that is beyond words! It was over a few seconds! This shows you how precious life is,could be over in a split second!

Indygenerallee

I watched it a couple more times and it just sends a chill down my back watching it, and as has been said don't take life for granted as it could all be over in a split second.

HOLY CRAP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hitting that  icey slush can cause your vehicle to swerve to one side. IF that box truck was not there he would have slid off the RIGHT side of the road. being a retired truck driver the semi is a lot of rolling weight however, disintegrating that SUV like it did was a shock. it seemed everyone was at close to the same speed. I also have a dash cam in my pick uptruck that can be flipped on if it is needed, it is a very small "spy cam" that has about 35 minutes of run time unless you get a larger XD card, it has full sound and hi def color. The fact the guy had a dash cam will help the highway patrol & DOT see exactly what happened.

So much for feeling safer driving a larger vehicle

Apparently,it doesn't matter!!!

A friend emailed that to me last week, then I found it on the 66_67_Doge_Charger  Titled , View fom a patrol car

One moment you're living, thinking about what you have to do this week, the next moment you're dead.

Reminds me of a story...

"The ground of a certain rich man yielded an abundant harvest. He thought to himself, 'What shall I do? I have no place to store my crops.' Then he said, 'This is what I'll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store my surplus grain. And I'll say to myself, "You have plenty of grain laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry.' But God said to him, 'You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?' This is how it will be with whoever stores up things for themselves but is not rich toward God."

-Told by Jesus as recorded by Luke
"This was the dedication of the altar, in the day when it was anointed, by the princes of Israel: twelve chargers of silver, twelve silver bowls, twelve spoons of gold..." -- Numbers 7:84 KJV

Wow. That made me feel a little ill too.

Reminds me also of something once said (sung):

The video shook me up a lot.. I have seen people die like that in front of me in the last 30 years of driving truck. I showed it to my oldest son, it shook him up. That's all it takes.

IF YOU HAVE YOUNG TEENS THAT DRIVE SHOW THIS TO THEM AND EXPLAIN WHY!!!! It only takes a milli second to happen.

I feel for that truck driver too. Wasn't his fault, but he still killed inocent people.

BTW - that's why when I am driving in that weather, I ALWAYS have my 4 wheel drive locked in. That might of helped out to keep the rear from swinging around like that, with the front end pulling.
PETE

My Dad taught me about TIME TRAVEL.
"If you don't straighten up, I'm going to knock you into the middle of next week!" :P

NHCharger

WOW. I've seen drivers lose control like that several times in my 35 years of driving. Never an end result like that. Problem is all these people that drive these big SUV's think they can still drive the speed limit in bad conditions.
Wonder if they were texting or on the phone?
