I have a filler tube from a 68 Charger. The tube has been out of the car for 7 years and it looks pretty dirty inside.
Does any one know what the best way would be to wash or clean out the inside of the tube ??  and if there is a solvent that could be used before I put it back in the tank...

Thanks  :2thumbs:

If it's rusted inside about the only way to clean the rust out is to use a chemical solution in conjunction with a metal brush.  This will discolor the leaded outer surface where it contacts it.  Another thing you could do is use some POR-15 in the inside.  The POR-15 folks make a product that is gasoline resistant.  Seal off one end, pour some in, and slosh it back and forth.  Then pour out the excess let it drip until it hardens.  Make sure to keep it off the surface that the cap seals against as well as out of the vent tube hole.  Note that if you do use a chemical cleaner on the inside that you would still want to POR-15 the inside as above to prevent future rust formation.

Mine was a little corroded inside so I had it jet coated. I was very pleased with the end result.

Tomorrow is promised to no one.......drive your Charger today.
