And no title.  But at least the numbers aren't rusted so you should be able to get your rare rebody up and running easily.

If they leave it out too long the wind will take it apart!  The dead sea scrolls were in better shape than that thing.

I'm thinking a person would need more than just bondo and duck tape....a roll of bailing wire would also come in handy to keep it from falling apart on the way home...............

(It must have been one of those...."I'm not selling it, because I plan to restore it someday", cars....)

Reading the ad again it says stored in a barn since 76. I wonder if there was an inground pool filled with salt water in the barn ?

I think they may have been a bit optimistic naming it a barn.  I may once have been a barn, the kind you can't look through.  Just as this was once a car.  What a shame.

As wingcar said for must have been owned by someone who was going to fix it up one day, but wouldn't even put it in under cover.

well after checking it out, i will say that the side marker lights are salvageable and i cant really see the grill, but it may be ok too. i dont see 2900 in parts there. they are selling a vin# and fender tag.

Nice Florida car. Must have been an ocean front barn with the open doors facing the water. The beer can on the fender is a nice touch, the most solid metal on the car. Must have drank a few of those while pondering when the resto would start.
My 1969 Charger. RIP......Rest in pieces.

F8-4life

2 grand or less and that would be awesome yard art. Brush paint it silver again and put on some rusty cragers... and take it out to the field and let it RIP

At least water leaking into the trunk won't be the biggest concern...

...and yet another example on why these cars need a registry. I'll grab the fender tag info so the car can be spoken to if it re-animates itself in a few years.  ;)  And to boot one of the rare 4-speeds. Damn shame....   :'(

I just went and looked this car over last week to see if it had a salvageable pair of seats (he had a pair but they are from a '70) and any other parts for my 68.   In terms of rust the pictures don't really do it justice, this car is one of the most gone I've ever seen.   There's a restorable tic-toc dash there in OK shape if anyone needs that, his ad on craigslist was for the parts separately.

Is the current owner the guy that was going to restore it 1 day ?

hatersaurusrex

Nah he has another 68 and he bought it for a parts car...

Guess he realized there are no parts left on it thats why its on the bag lol.

On a more serious note I'm amazed how the fendertag isn't all rusted up into little pieces.

At what point is something so far gone, missing so much of its original self, that you can no longer claim it is what it originally was?

Ghoste

Its a bit of a raging question these days with no firm answer yet.  There are many who tell you that as long as the three key pieces of sheet metal with the numbers on them are there, its a restoration.  I call that a rebody personally.

Good question.

Personally if you have to change out frame rails its too far gone. Keeping in mind 99% of the time if the rails are done the rest of the sheetmetal is long gone too.

If Joan Rivers was a Charger-this would be her pinup. Oh wait her fender tag shows she is numbers matching, just re-bodied!
