I am following this thread on the Corvette Forum. It is a discussion about the Chrysler Hemi of old vs the engines of today. Some good reading.

Heh.  Yeah, I've been following that thread as well (I have an 86 Vette, and tend to frequent those boards).  Not quite sure which side to cheer for on that one :)

I wonder why someone on that board didn't just look it up somewhere. Maybe they like feeling powerful. http://www.allpar.com/mopar/hemi/dyno-test.html

Gross ratings vs net ratings vs rear wheel HP  ratings blah blah blah.   Anyhooo...  IIRC that DCG episode had some controvery because the hemi car smoked a clutch or something.   But 314 at the rear wheels isn't that far away from 20% for driveline losses.   Whatever.

But no doubt the LT4 was and is a kickazz motor anyway but trying to reason with a die hard chebbie guy about the value of a mopar is usually a waste of time.   Beenthere donethatTshirt.

I have both makes also.
73 Charger Work In Progress and a 99 C-5 Summer Driver.
My Charger currently has more HP than the Vette 416 vs 355 (this month anyways)
Both forums have been very helpful with both my cars (oh yea, don't forget the Chevy Avalanche forum...) and truck.
:yesnod:

Does not matter what make, car guys and gals have one thing in common, Pride in their Ride.

Mopar Madness

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one with a Vette also...I've got a 02. 6,000 miles on it, bought more as a investment. I figured when Troy came down to visit, I might have to throw the cover over it....

Haha, no I actually like the newer Vettes (and the mid 60s ones as well). I just can't afford any of the ones I want.
