Starting to work on putting my engine back together and trying to figure out if I have the original carb or not.

I have this sneaky suspicion that when I put it back together in 1983 that I grabbed the carb off a 440 auto that I had on the shelf, because I was too lazy to rebuild the original one.   No big deal at the time - because we were trying to get it up and running before school started in the fall. (I did the original restoration during summer between semesters).

Anyway - if someone can provide guidance on 440-4V, 4 speed carbs for Superbirds - I would appreciate it.

Thanks friends.

I think the 4740 is what I have on it.   but that may be the automatic one.

That'd be the correct number for a Daytona, but as Dave posted and according to what the Guru's little white book says, a 3-pedal 4v 'Bird should have a 4737s (without the N95 emissions option).

Wouldn't it be 4737 or 4739 for California (1970 for Superbird)

OK - thanks everyone for the leads.   I have to dig through my "shelf" to see if I still have the old one.    I think what happened was we had the original one that needed to be rebuilt AND we had a 440 auto one - already rebuilt.   It was a no brainer of which one to put on at the time.    HOPEFULLY, I still have the original one (because I am notorius for NOT throwing anything away - just ask my wife)
