As the topic title says, Scott rebuilt/restored my 4618SA for the Daytona and boy, it looks great. Can't wait to see how she runs...

I have heard nothing but good things about Scott and his carburetor restorations! He even
helped me by e-mail sort some things out when I first got the Daytona running and had a
hard time with cold starts!

Looks great there Troy. One of these days I'll start doing little stuff like that to my car, but I'm deathly afraid that I'd just start little and before I knew it the whole car would be torn down.

Troy is that the original tag on the carb and is the tag that color originally? Gene and I have had discussions as to the correct color for the 4617 & 4618 carb tags. Hard to come across many original tags but I have been leaning toward Gene's train of thought that they should be light brown or tan. That is what his research came up with for the 4617 number carb. I have seen 4640 carbs with the tan tag also but not the 4618 but it sorta makes sense they might be the same. Just wondering.  :scratchchin:

Thanks guys... I'll look at it closer when it gets home.. In all honesty, I believe it is "faded" if that a possibility with anodized metal. I want to say, IIRC, it was tan.. I have another 4618S(A), I'll see if it has a tag... But yes, the tag on the carb is "4618SA"..

I do want to say that Scott has done 2 carbs for me on two seperate cars and the work was superb....and worth the money. The one date coded carb he found for me and rebuilt it. All...OK to the max!

I can believe it is "faded". I've seen tags before with just the remnant's of a color left on them. Probably not faded more like just eroded off.
