There is a  different codes for the spring introduced paint code

Paint code "G" - "racing green metallic"
Paint code "6" - "dark green metallic" - became paint code "F8" for 1969

I learned recently that there were two different types of flip-top gas caps in 68. One style was for the cars that got locking caps (left) and the other was the well-known regular one (on right, which was continued in 69 and 70) for the non-locking caps.
