Curious about what steering wheels look best in a 68 charger....anyone running a tuff wheel?       I have all black dash, with black/chrome console...

  I run a Grant 846 with the adapter kit.   I like it.       Some people here will tell you that you need to buy a "closer to stock" reproduction for 3X  the price.    I figure it's YOUR choice.

 I saw one in a very wicked '69 Charger at Lebanon Valley Dragway . That answered my question as to how it looked in a 2nd gen. Charger. It looks TUFF !!  If  I remember right it was a stick car with a six pack , awesome car!!

Yep 71 was the first year in B-bodies.  Was it available in other lines in 70?

I got a Grant woodgrain tuff wheel in my '69. My old '73 had a factory installed tuff wheel.

Did some searching and apparently some 1970 chargers did have a factory tuff wheel S84 option code. Pretty rare though mid year intro.

If you don't mine me asking, where did you find this information? I have never seen one from the factory, but I wouldn't mind seeing what you came up with.

 I read it on the option code lists at 1970 charger registry.

straight from the registry: "S84 - Steering Wheel Tuff 9 built* 0.1% N/A Became available February 12, 1970 *Without A47 Option 0 built with A47"

Put a tuff wheel in my 70 and I think it looks really cool. I used the a-body column adapter. Bear in mind that 70 columns have a larger diameter than 68 columns - the adapter can needs some mods to make it fit. There is a thread on this board about it.

Do you have an original tuff wheel or a Grant tuff wheel. A Grant tuff wheel uses an original adapter or you can use a normal grant adapter (it has both patterns in the wheel).

for those running a tuff wheel in their 68-70 chargers, did you need the space/adapter to move the wheel away from the turnsignal lever? and what did ya use?

for those running the tuff wheel in their 68-70 chargers, did you need a spacer between the wheel and steering column, or did you just bolt it right up.....
question is for those with factory columns not flaming river columns please.....thank you!
