for street use but just to get the best of my stroked engine, with 175K MP converter with 3,55 SG on 255/60-15 tires, affordable/cheap and easy to install.

STREET USE... maybe will see some 1/4 mile race for fun, but not really to race

The Transgo TF-2 is the best bang for the buck.

X2
i loved that kit when i put it in mine back in 93-94, neck snapping shifts if you wanted them at full rpm and solid shifts at regular rpm, of course i opted for the full 5.0 (i think) lever and the capability of any rpm 2-1 shift but you can leave those out
that kit and a small 70's era 340 cuda convertor worked great in my big old heavy car, kept 3.23's for a year then moved up to 3.91's but those little 14 inch tires didn't like it so much

I messagged with him, but he only talked about good rebuild pieces, which is nice, but never mentioned about performance stuff

Surf Charger

In in the process of getting my transmission rebuilt as it just went out on me.

Would this shift kit be good for a driver? .....I have a 383 w/ mild cam and 4-barral edlebrock/383 torquer intake manifold. Automatic 727 Torqueflight.

nacho, the kit is really easy to do, i had never even changed trans fluid when i did mine, but i did have one mistake cause i was in a hurry, the base shop was closing on me.

when you take the plungers/valves/whatever those round metal things with the ridges on them are called, make sure they all go back in the EXACT same way.  i inadvertantly turned one of mine around (i think it rolled on the bench) and everything went back together fine but when i started the car i couldn't get it to go in gear, the base shop was closing so i just pushed it out in the parking lot and towed it to a trans shop the next day. they told me i had put one back in backwards and had it fixed for me in about 30 minutes or so
