Was talking with a buddy of mine in Hawaii that I hadn't talked to in 4 or 5 years, he told me he read an article a couple of years ago in a magazine, he couldn't remember which one, about the screwing I got from HLPAG when I bought my 69 Charger R/T from them, does anyone remember the article and magazine?  I'd love to get it and buy a subscription to the mag.  I tried to get a couple of mags to write an article but never heard back from them, I even tried to get Jay Leno to get involved and put these bastards away but heard nothing from him.

Thanks Guys

what did you ever end up doing with that car?  did you sell it?

Yeah the wife and I were seperated last spring/summer (were all better now  :icon_smile_big:), so I needed the bucks.  I sold it to somone who saw it in the forsale section here, don't remember who that was though.

I though that was JB666's car and BKAuto that made headlines??  Would like to know anyhow.

I had never heard anything about it until my buddy said he read an article.  He could have been mistaken and just thought it was my screwing and not JB666's  :shruggy:

moparstuart

is there a thread here about your car and the story on it  ?? :shruggy: :shruggy: :shruggy:

With them still being in business, even though under a new name, and a lot of new people on the site it doesn't hurt for it to come up as a refresher anyway.

Go to autobuy.com and input 1969 Dodge Charger and look at ALL the orange GL cars that are for sale from between  $17,000 & 25,000 dollars. The sellers have different names & they are probably HALPAG by another name. There is even an orange challenger that they have for sale and show a picture of the orange body shell. They must have barrels of that orange paint, who knows WHAT they are covering up & hiding under that sea of GL Orange. :popcrn: :flame:

Good point there Dino

bull

I don't see how someone could have done a story on your situation without contacting you, unless they just used a few words from your thread.

I was browsing this forum 1 day and saw a new post about the DIRTY MARY CRAZY LARRY (DMCL) CHARGER and in that post was a link to the magazine article, I clicked onto it and saw a picture of PETER FONDA & SUSAN GEORGE  from the movie and as i scroll down, suddenly there are about 4 pictures of me & my charger from the 1970's along with some information about my ownership of my charger with a couple of facts that were incorrect. The information & the pictures were taken from THIS site & then published without me knowing ANYTHING about it.The editor of that magazine has posted here in these forums and stated  if there were some incorrect facts he would correct them. I emailed him as he requested and gave him the straight "scoop" :chatting: :vert: However he never replied back to me as I had requested in my email to him, so i would know he recieved the email. There was also a picture of a DMCL clone charger belonging to  one of the  members of this forum in that article, and the member was not aknowledged. The answer to your question then is, YES that does happen without the people mentioned  in the magazine article Knowing  anything about it so it can come as a surprise.

The digital magazine is called "STREET LEGAL TV.COM I was just looking at their website and looking at some Charger stories they have & saw a story about one of themembers here who OWNED a white 69 charger that got totaled by a big dually pickup against a guardrail. I will post a link to the story here and who knows, the guy who owned (owns) the charger may not know HIS story is in the magazine. That way if anyone knows him they can point him to this link. http://www.streetlegaltv.com/news/man-survives-terrible-wreck-his-69-dodge-charger-doesnt/
