What sort of stereo is in your Charger?

Just got the existing Dodge Solid State AM masterpiece, unfortunately it dosent work but it can stay there and fill the stock look criteria but I like those secret audio gigs, might have to look that up in the future.
Making do with the flowmasters and 2 1/2 duals, not too much of a hardship

I have an infrared eye mounted  between the vent nobs under my dash. My receiver is mounted under my package tray in the trunk, as is my cd changer. I did this about 15 years ago or so. I'll take some pictures tomarrow and post them. If I was going to do this again I would go with some sort of I pod dock set up. My brother-in-law bought a cool set up for his '68 cougar. It fits in the stock radio location and the nobs and shafts can be moved anywhere. it will fit a dash like mine where the shafts are both to the left of the radio. It has an Ipod dock and has a memory stick port. I sent him an e-mail for a link to the info. I'll post up the info when I hear back from him.

Out of all my 68 - 70 Chargers I have owned, I never put a stereo in one.  I remember seeing the back has a weird size to them.  You guys make a conversion plate to make the opening work?

That dude has some skills! Very nice work. I am planning an amp mounted in the same place he put his, driving a sub mounted somehow next to the spare. In due time, with due money. Hopefully before the drive to MATS.

Truthfully I hardly use the sound system in town. The Turbo Flo's and cut outs are great fun by themselves.

Do you have to supply a core? I have an AM/FM in my Charger and don't really want to gut it if it still works. Seems silly as I understand they are quite rare.

Yes, but I would NOT be using an original AM/FM.

buy a  decent am core and let them use it instead

My '70 has the glove box door hinged at the bottom! Funny that I never noticed the difference from the earlier cars.
I decided to go ahead with a modern unit. I got a Kenwood cd withOUT the bluetooth option. That saved $50 for an option that I'd never use in that car. I'm putting 6x9 speakers in the factory rear deck position. Last year at the LA Spring Fling, I saw a guy selling lower kick panel reproductions with 6" round speakers molded in. Hopefully the guy will be back there next month!

They sound pretty good for such a small speaker, I like them but the sound is not a crisp as the bigger speakers. If my dash didnt have the factory holes then I would have just put a set of bigger speakers in the doors or kick panels.
