Hey,

Could you post a picture of the underneath side/engine side of the first pictures?  Looks to me someone grafted a 1971 R/T or SuperBee insert cutout to a 1973 hood or the bulge part to a 73 flat hood. I had a 1972 Rallye Charger that someone cut the bulge part off the original hood and welded to a 72 flat hood, looked pretty good.

The first hood is a 1971 Charger R/T or Superbee factory replacement hood. I have a couple of them, one I bought new from a Dodge dealership many years ago. If you crashed you 71 R/T or Superbee after 1973 and had factory replacement parts used to fix your car, that is the hood you would get.

red71 seems to have the most logical answer for this unicorn. I also thought it could have been grafted but cant find the weld seams anywhere. the hood measures 2.5 mils of paint thickness across the whole hood. I will be media blasting it later this week and will post pics. thanks for your imput. Have a good one.

thanks
