Staring at your Charger

Do you ever find yourself sitting there and just staring at your Charger?  I don't mean a long look, I mean really mesmerized by the thing.  You know, where you are transfixed and just lose track of time kind of staring?  Studying every curve and angle and how they intersect?
(and yes, I just caught myself doing it...     again)

Its hard not to look at the sexy lines of a 2nd gen Charger :2thumbs:

I did ALL the time.  Just beautiful how the design team came up with it.   Clearly they hit a home run that will never be achieved again.   Talk about a perfect combination of body panel design.

Good, I feel like less of an ass now.  I find myself doing it from any angle too.  This morning it was a rear 3/4 but I've caught myself hypnotized sitting on a curb staring up at the grille, I've been up somewhere high and lulled into staring at the car from above.  Just any angle seem to flow right.

I have found myself looking at this rearend more than once ;D

Yep, all the while thinking"well dumbass, grab a wrench and start working on it so we can go for a ride!"

it really is amazing the longer you really study a 68-70's body lines. pretty incredible. These cars were steel, not fiberglass like the 68-82 vettes that have similar swoopy lines. When i had a 68 69 and a 70, i purposely lined them up together just to see the subtle changes from year to year. nowadays cars are identical for 5-6 years, sometimes up to 10. back then they changed LOTS of minor things every year. anyone that owns a 68-69 and a 70 will notice how similar, but very different the curves are on the fenders, hood, etc on the 2 chargers, yet kept the same inner structure and body. pretty cool stuff!

I thought that I was the only wierdo that did this!
I love the looks of the 68-70 Chargers. I've often wondered why they didn't sell MORE of them. Side by side, WHY would anyone buy a Chevelle or a Torino?

I thought that too!! Glad to hear I have company. :2thumbs: Sometimes I make excuses to myself to go in the garage so I can look at the car. In the winter the car cover is on, so I pick up one section a little to admire part of the car (fender, quarter panel, etc.) :drool5:

The visualation of driving the car keeps me focused on getting it done. Looking at it early on in the process is what helped me come up with the color scheme. :2thumbs:

No way... I'd venture to say there's more of us that do it than not...  To me, it's the best stress relief either. Like Skip said, they nailed it with these cars.. No car out there has lines like this...

Hell yeah, sometimes I just go into the garage and kick back for for a short while with a beer and look at this car and think to myself they did it right.

I'll one up you on this....    How many of you guys have talked to your car ?   :shruggy:   Sometimes I would pat my car and tell it "I'm gonna to fix you up nice".     :yesnod: :icon_smile_big:

I do it too. Cheaper than driving it and almost as satisfying. It's a good thing I can't get this car in my livingroom.
My 1969 Charger. RIP......Rest in pieces.
