28k to make it a turn key car. Considering the condition I didn't think that was to bad. That would be back to its original Bronze color w/black vinyl top and tan interior.

So that would be like buying a done 69 R/T for 28k....   seems ok.  What is the shops reputation?

If they can actually do it for that price and they have a goood reputation, it is a pretty good deal. I would think the shop would actually have to double that price just to break even here. Paying for all that sheetmetal, labor paint, interior, etc. will get expensive quick. This is without even touching the drivetrain and you will need rebuilds of the motor and tranny at least.

If you are going to take it to a reputable shop, expect a lot more money than 28k to change hands, I don't care what they say BEFORE they start!

I pointed to two old drunks sitting across the bar from us and told my friend
"That's us in 10 years".
He said "That's a mirror, dip-shit!

$28K...I'm glad you've got the resources to handle that bill.  I hope you go through with it; keep us updated with pictures!

You must have misread that post. I don't have those kind of resources, So it will probably end up being a parts car if I find a could shell.
