I won't be wronged, I wont be Insulted and I wont be laid a hand on. I don't do these things to others, and I require the same from them.

If you have a glass rear window for a 500, rest assured it's the same as a Daytona.
The only possible difference might be the date code of production on it.

I have one as well. I'm interested in seeing what yours sells for.

Only difference is the dates on the glass. What is the date on yours? I would be interested in one dated for a 500 as long as it was not a December date.

I wouldn't throw a C500 window out of bed if I was restoring a Daytona and I wouldn't throw a Daytona window out of bed if I was restoring a C500..  :icon_smile_big:

If it's an original glass, I would value it higher than a reproduction.   The repros that were out there don't have the same shape as the factory glass, and you can tell them apart when they are on the car.

The picture of the rear glass in question doesn't have a clear enough date code for me to read. It looks like the older "P" type logo which would be a 500 or early Daytona? I have attached 2 pictures both from early June 69 build Daytonas. Both of these have date codes of
6-9.

John is the glass out of the other car? I can not make out the date code on the eBay add. Would need a clearer shot to be sure. Looks like an 8 at the end though.

Danny,
The loose glass is indeed out of the R4 Daytona. Both date codes are 69G or June 1969.

98G for the date code would be the same as my 500.

My 500 was built in November '68.  The glass date code is 19...

Would Creative still be converting the car into a 500 late enough for a 19 rear glass date code?

The original owner told me had the car in to the dealership twice for back glass leaks and corrosion within the first year of ownership.  Maybe the dealer swapped out the glass while repairing the leak?

By the way, the back light does not leak now, and looks like it has had a dry trunk for a long time!

Thanks, Mike

I will check through some pics of glass date codes and get back to you Mike
