Surf Charger

After troubleshooting many problems with everyone on this extrememly helpful forum, I finally go her back to life. Replaced the waterpump, thermostat, hoses, fuel tank, sender, fuel lines, fuel pump, radiator, freeze plugs, and headers. Still have a long way to go to get it where I want it..but goal #1 has been officially met. Runs great. Doesn't overheat. No leaks (fluids).

Drove down the road to eat lunch for the official maiden voyage...I was nervous! But she drove great. Pulled up to the restaurant and had several people walk up to look. Lots of pointing and ouus and ahhs...even though it looks like crap (cosmetically speaking). Waiting for my new bumper to come in and then its off to my buddy's body shop for some minor work on the rust spots. Then a new paint job.

I've seen a lot of classic cars on the road...even mopars....but seeing a classic Dodge Charger is such an iconic thing to witness. I can't tell you how fun it is waiting to pull out of my road and seeing all the people facial expressions that drive by. One guy in a pickup almost wrecked he was starring so hard! haha.

I don't know of any other Dodge Chargers on the road here in Wilmington/Wrightsville Beach, NC...seen a Coronet...but not Chargers. So this should be fun!  :2thumbs:

Was fun till I ran into Roadblock #2: Tranny doesn't seem to want to shift into 2nd now.  :rotz:

Park is fine. Reverse is fine. Idles fine in Neutral. Drive is fine until you get up to speed and now it doesn't want to shift into the next gear. Even 2 and 1 work.

Super bummed. Does this mean new tranny? Something simple? I'm really sad about this.

hey budy.Check oil level and throttle linkage.when you check oil make sure it's nice scarlet red color and does not smell burnt.Start engine and move selector forward and reverse to clear any bubbles.Top it up slowly and don't over fill it.Next check throttle ;linkages and make sure it has full travel and not binding.Good luck.
