I'm looking for some pics of steering wheel covers on Charger wheels, namely an old school style lace-up cover in black on a standard 68. I found and bought one at Autozone yeatserday and will install it at some future date. I'm not a big fan of the thin steering wheels on our classic cars but I like the looks of them so this is going to be my way of makng it a little more "grippy" and comfortable.

I actually just saw one on a Charger project car that was for sale & can't recall which site it was on.   :shruggy:

I agree with you about the thin wheel, it's kind of awkward feeling after having been driving a modern vehicle daily for so long. I found a black leather wrap on a discount table several years back for $5 or so & snatched it up for the exact same reason. I may use it on my Road Runner to cover up the wood grain wheel that has a big crack in it until I get it fixed or buy a new wheel.

While hunting for it, I just spotted this vintage style wheel that I like for only $75 that looks thicker.

I like that wheel too. Had mine not been in decent enough shape to restore in one day I'd be going that route.

Fred

I had mine covered in leather to give it a bit more thickness and grip. I'm very happy with it. feels really good.

Fred, I really like what you have done with the wheel.  :2thumbs:

PM sent.

Fred

Thanks Guys. I wanted to keep the original wheel but felt I needed a little more grip so I opted for the leather wrap with a little bit of padding.
Feels good, I'm extremely happy with the result.  :2thumbs:
