That's wierd - the outside looks like crap but the interior looks to be in pristine condition - how does that happen?

Sometimes what happens with the southern cars is the body stays good but the strong sun beats the hell out of the interior. Here in Canada, the salt and snow wrecks the body but the interior stays nice. I used to hear of people buying a southern car to get the body and a northern car to get the interior so they could make one nice car. Probably doesn't happen much anymore as the cars are just too old now.
My 1969 Charger. RIP......Rest in pieces.

My buddy was looking for a project car 3-4 years ago and we went to check out a 69 Cuda 340 4 speed that he said was nice,it needed everything,$4500 we passed on it.He had the 66 Charger in the garage buried under a ton of parts ,also remember a 69 Hemi Road Runner low mile drag car. The Charger is basically what you see in the pictures. He,s close to National Moparts so a call to Nigel may tell you more about the car

Looks almost looks as if there are two different cars being pictured here...............................
1970 Daytona Charger SE "clone" (440/Auto)
1967 Charger (360,6-pak/Auto)
2008 Challenger SRT8 BLK (6.1/Auto) 6050 of 6400

charger_fan_4ever

The interior pic i thought was a different car, but you look through the passengers side window and you see the window on the garage door that you see in other pics.

sheetmetal wise other than the floor isn't there virtually NO repro parts for the 1st generation ?

Ghoste

Big Sugar

There is a lot of stuff available for the 1st gen charger, Body Metal is usually pretty decent, Lower quarters  are the bad spots but they arnt to difficult to repair, Floors firewall , forward firewall metal is available. Trim is available just not the ridge trim, Interior is not too much trouble inless you've got bad rear sail panels and bad interior door panels. It's not too hard really to put together a nice 1st gen Charger.

I was gonna say different person but I see you beat me to it Dean :icon_smile_wink: Am I the only one who's thinking if I was selling a '66 HEMI Charger, I wouldn't show a picture of it being moved around with a fork lift like that....? Let alone a Toyota Corolla... :scratchchin:

So what appears to be a "cheap" hemi car will probably take the shirt of your back ;)

5k starting point, and it's going to take 60k(providing the body is in good shape) or so to restore the car. Being one of the few disc brake 66s, he may be able to get 30-35k for it. I hope the new owner LOVES this car.

Actually, there's quite a few things in that list you can buy new. The glass, the mirrors, the handles, the trunk lock (though no bezel). There are new exterior skin replacements and you can get front fenders and doors from a coronet. The doors even I believe interchange with the 66/67 belvedere. I had a chance to buy a few dozen pieces of new glass, the side, rear, front, for only a couple hundred bucks and missed out on it. I think I read the new glass is thinner than the original stuff.

Good buy though, to the guy who bought the car. Cool original spoiler. Consider registering the car at the link below.

We'll run them against the 70 Charger Registry database and add any we are missing. Thanks!

i'm not trying to scare the guy off, just give him a better list of available products than i got when i fell in love with those dash lights
there are 400% more products available now than there were 20 years ago, the internet helps with that but its still no 2nd gen restoration

door handles i got said they fit all 66-70 b bodies but they don't, the door has a slight curve right there and will never sit flush like the originals do, please post a link for the rear glass, the front glass is thinner but still available like i thought, drivers side mirror maybe but not passengers, trunk lock doesn't help with a scratched crappy bezel on new paint, please post link for exterior skin replacements
