Troy

The expensive one is the "deluxe" model which has cutouts for the speakers.

Troy
Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

I wish they actually had a picture, I'd sure like to see what it looks like before I pay that much money for a piece of cardboard....

Imagine perforations in the shape of a speaker.

If it's just perforations, sorta like a speaker grill, then I'd be cool with that since I'd want to put speakers under it without the grills showing on top and also to have a jute backing to the package tray....  Thanks Troy  :2thumbs:

Thank you Tan Top, I appreciate the effort.  Guess I will be ordering the Deluxe and jute backing  :2thumbs:

Well something aint right!  I went to go ahead and order the package tray and jute, with my 20% discount it came to $55 and change, the darn shipping was $51  That's just crazy!!!!

Troy

The package tray is oversize - and YearOne's shipping is ridiculous. Next time order from Dante's or direct from Legendary. If possible, pick up those large (but light) packages at a show. Other parts with similar shipping: seat foam, seat covers, and maybe door panels.

Thanks Troy, I didn't bother to order from year one, I'm just not going to pay that shipping for something that weighs a couple of pounds (and that's being more than generous!)...  I'm going to check out classic industries today, I got an e-mail from them this morning for their March madness sale.  As for shows, well unfortunately being here in San Antonio there are no big shows close enough to make  :'(

If you want a package tray with the correct holes and amount of lines, call Dave at ECS!  I believe he is making them now.

Cool, I don't mind paying a little more for quality...  Thanks for the link

EDIT:  Well crap, he doesn't have a package tray for a 73....

Troy

The vendor doesn't set the actual shipping cost - but YearOne has a tendency to overinflate. The piece itself doesn't weigh much, it's just that the overall dimensions are larger than allowed so the shipper automatically charges the 30 pound rate (at least it used to be 30 pounds). You're going to pay a hefty amount to get it shipped no matter what but places like Dante's will charge you the exact amount that the shipper charges. The other option is to place a large order where the boxes can be strapped together. Since you're paying the 30 pound rate any way you *shouldn't* see an increase in cost.

I bought mine for my 73 from Dantes. Excellent service and price by the way. It shipped damaged and I noticed it after the claim time expired. They replaced it no questions asked.

Cool, what's their shipping price like?
