Hi guys!

A friend of mine is building a '68 r/t and he says he can't find any swingarm for the charger! He tried summit, rockauto and eBay!
Does anyone know where to get them from?

Thanks,

Peter

Tell your friend that if he wants an easy restoration then he needs to get a Ford or Chevy.  Nobody is reproducing stock-type lower control arms for Mopars.  If he wants a rebuilt one then he needs to rebuild it.  If he doesn't have one then he needs to get a used one from somewhere.

Thanks Mick Dc!

Maybe that is what he is after, not sure!So how come that nobody reproducing stock-type lower control arms for Mopars? Also where can he get one then a junkyard or something like that?

He is doing for a client from Switzerland not his car and he is new to mopar!

Thanks again

Peter

The original item can be rebuilt with a fresh rubber bushing and a new balljoint.  If your friend does not have an original one to rebuild then he needs to search the usual sources for used vintage Chrysler parts.  Ebay would be a place to start for a relatively small part like that.  He also needs to look in the Mopar-specific magazines and see the advertisements.

Nobody makes this replacement part for the same reason that nobody makes a lot of other parts for these cars - supply and demand.  Chrysler cars were built in smaller numbers than Ford and GM products, so the prices of the used original parts must go lot higher before the parts can be reproduced at a profit.  Today most people can still find rebuildable used control arms for less than the price of a reproduction.

I thought swing arm always referred to a trailing arm setup for the rear end (nascar setup, old chevy truck setup) the bar that connected the frame to the rearend to square it up

Coil spring Chevy passenger car's had that. Think it was to keep the rear axle from shifting back and forth.
Still not clear on this. Swingarm sound's more like what you would find on a motorcycle.
Still looking for 15x7 Appliance slotted mags.....
