Whereabouts of Dale Reeker ?

Can anyone help me locate Dale Reeker ? I have a couple questions to ask him pretaining to the history of my car. If you know of a friend of Dales that i could have ask for me that would also be helpful.  thanks

Gene, what is your opinion on the pics we looked at on Saturday? Same front fenders as on the Reeker car? I resized the photo's, but not on posting them or not. Due to not being the one seeing the Reeker car in the last few days, can't say for certain.

It's hard to say if the photos are of the Reeker car or not.  I looked closely at a couple of the photos I took of the car, and there is not a seam on the Reeker car's fender right above the marker lights as in the pictures from Detroit.  That doesn't mean much since they could easily have put another set of modified fenders on the car before completing its conversion, but the '70 style side marker connection makes it a distinct possibility they are the same car.  If those are the original fenders it would certainly indicate the Reeker car was an early build (still not 100% sure about calling it "the prototype" just yet).  Perhaps John can talk with Les Bowman sometime to confirm that the fenders are original to the car, although he and I both suspect that is the case.

The pictures are in B&W which doesn't help much in proving or disproving which car it is - especially since there's no way to tell if they had painted the test-fit fenders the color of the car just yet.  It also looks like the nosecone is fiberglass to me, but it's difficult to tell.

I don't know whether they fall under the category of information we are honor-bound to "protect" or not...      Guess not since they're already posted...

I didn't figure any harm in the photo's, but am pretty sure on other stuff. I know the last one is of a Superbird, and messed up when posting the pics, as I had resized all of the photo's, and had forgot which numbers were the daytona and which were the superbirds.

Did you get any pictures from the inside of the fender of those marker holes that are filled in? Just wondering.

Yes, I did get some pictures showing the bezel outline from the inside, but I won't post them without the owner's OK.  Haven't had the chance to ask him how much he wants that sort of stuff publicized just yet...

A:   I included two more pictures however they are not the best due to my camera. One is of the nose cone and the other is of the installation instructions. I bought this information from a collector back in 1981. Thanks.

A:   These prints cover everything. NASCAR part installation, Lynch Rd. Installation, nose cone, wiring harness, wing struts, etc. Most of the dates on the prints are 9-26-69 so you know they are from the time frame. Thanks.

A:   I don't have a count on the pages. But to estimate there a about 80-100 prints of the pieces and installation instructions. There is nothing else included but what is described. I was not going to attend the swat meet. Trust me, you won't be disapointed in this piece of history. Thanks. I made it home in time for the game, but not by a whole lot.  When I went back to drop the paperwork off after supper, there was a whole 'nother stack of stuff set out for me to look at so I didnt' hit the road to go back home until after 1am.  A couple of Rest Area naps and 9.5hours of driving later, I got home at 1:30pm.  Very long trip & weekend, but well worth it considering the historical significance of the cars and paperwork.  It's really odd that the photos we found in Detroit may have been of the car I saw for the first time a day-and-a-half earlier, since I might not have made the connection otherwise (or at least as quickly).

Jonathan's team won the soccer game 4-3, and took either 1st or 2nd in their division.  He thinks he is wrapping up his soccer career though.  He's at that age where the talent level really starts to spike up with some of the boys, so he sorta got left behind at times - plus his coach was one of those guys who has a bullhorn-type voice, was constantly barking orders at the kids, berating the ref's, and used both a clipboard & whistle.  For a group of 3rd grade boys.    He did learn a lot about playing soccer, but I think he's a little turned off on soccer now.  Baseball's his thing anyway, so we're not too disappointed.  UPWARDS Basketball starts the 2nd week of January, so we have a few weeks off...
