Or maybe I confused this one with another silver one but I remember the ebay one having a muddy rear (heh) too...and getting high bids, yet put back on ebay a few times.

Originally a 318 car and now an R/T - how does that happen? ::)

So what do you think the car is worth?  I was thinking 17-18k.

I ask because I think the car I get will be a non-r/t "R/T."  I want the 440 but think an original R/T will price itself out of my 20k price limit.  Pricing these 440 non R/T cars seems to be tricky.

Thanks,
Duane

It looks nice enough in the CL ad but without knowing more about whats under the bondo it becomes hard to say what it is worth.  It looks like a nice enough car in the pics but there is a reason for lots of filler.

I know i asked this seemingly stupid question but how can you tell the presence of bondo just by looking it?is the light hits it differently or what gives it away?
thanks

Waves in panels, oddly shaped contours, "fatness", or one of my favorites in 2nd gen Chargers, when the rear valence end caps are smoothed into the valence and 1/4 panel.

A lot of people weld that since replacement end caps never seem to fit correctly. Not correct of course, but it doesn't necessarily indicate bondo.

Most of the ones I've seen were bondo'd but it could be from living in the rust belt too. ;)

Doesn't matter how many times i watch this video on youtube i can't see the waves and fatness!I really wanna learn to spot bondo but this is like "spot the cat"game!I suck at in and it needs to be pointed at to see those damn cats! :brickwall:

Could someone take their time and circle the waves and fatness on the pictures for me,please?

Thanks,
Peter

in case anyone was wondering, I emailed the seller about the car and he said there's bondo in the rear bottom quarters and back window area...now I know most of these cars have been "played" with over the years, have their share of bits of filler here and there but at least the price IMO should be adjusted accordingly.

not for 24k the price is not adjusted accordingly.....did you ask him whats he smoking?

I agree and no I didn't ask haha. I guess the value of the car would be in the 16-19k range to most members here.

Problem with that car, is they may have paid more than that, and now want their money out of it  :Twocents:
