Its your car, do what you want to.  However, if it were ME, and it was a numbers matching car with paperwork, I would paint it back to what it was born with originally.  No need to change anything that is that complete already.  Repainting it any other color would be a slap in the face to the car since it has survived all these years with all of its original born with stuff.

A numbers matching car with paperwork is still a numbers matching car with paperwork..... In any skin color.......  :icon_smile_big:

Troy, wouldn't changing the color be technically changing the color code for the car?  Thus, not matching the fender tag?   :nana:

FJ5WING

just a momoment of weakness.....
I wont be changing the color.
There were a lot of good points about the fact that the car is so right and if it was missing anything or fully rusted out and resurected it would make some sense.

Thanks for all the opinions and support. I dont usually get much feedback. I gotta start getting to the national events and making friends. :nixon: :nana: One of these years at Carlisle Ill get to the DC.com tent for a round of intros. :grouphug:

Buy a model car and paint it.   Look at it until you burn the Burnt Orange out of your system...    A lot cheaper too!
I've never owned anything but a MoPar. Can you say that?

Over the decades, I've heard more guys say, "I should have painted it (fill in the blank), I really loved that color",...rather than "I'm glad I painted it the original color", the self induced "ass-kicking" comes after it's all assembled, and then they have to live with it.....

I've had 2 cars in the garage for a long time.  One car the keeper (leave alone) & the other the driver.  The other one always got drove & beat on during weekends.

If I had an RR1 '68 Coronet R/T vert, the other car would be built the way I would have ordered/bought new.  Not many people can say their 2nd car is a Superbird.  But if I had your two cars the '68 would be my favorite.

FJ5WING

Thats not as crazy as I thought when I first read this :faint: because after a few minutes I realized on several occassions people have told me they like the R/T better than the Bird.  :nutkick:

I dont agree but I do know I have two cool cars! :idiot: At least in my own mind! :nixon:
