I wasn't old enough to drive yet, but I can remember those cars lurking around when I was just a wee lad. I was born about 10 years too late.

Great site! I remember a lot of that stuff in the 70's and lucky for me I was able to drive on the tail end of that era in the 80's.

I remember when cars were jacked up and looked like Dogs sniffing the ground, even had a '65 Satellite with air shocks, traction bars, etc.

Drove it to HS in 1987. Still think Centerline Auto Drag wheels, satin finish, are the coolest wheels.
Boy, if i only knew what I know now back then, I might have been king-o-the hill instead of just another "Squirrel" at the local street scene.

I even spotted a familiar face on there...
Thanks for the walk down memory lane, Oh yes the bell bottoms & long hair, chemically altered states, jacked up cars, tunnel rams, scantily dressed promiscuous women of the late 60's to 70's era, I don't miss some of the circus paint jobs or the bell bottoms, but I do remember, "when sex was safe & racing was dangerous", I do miss the cars being available for reasonable prices, buying Charger's Roadrunner's GTX's Dart's Demon's Fury's Barracuda's Camaro's Mustang's 442's GS's, you name it all day long for $300-$1500 here in Calif., our parts suppliers shipping & availability, plus knowledge is much better now though...

...Me at age 16 the day I picked it up from a fresh Earl Sheib 1/2 off winter special, that's right, I paid 50 bucks for paint job.  1986:

Nice stack,
yeah, wish I had taken more photos too, film was expensive (it seemed at the time and I guess it was looking back).

I had not thought about the pintos (& mav's etc) in a while, interesting to see photos again reminding me how common they were in the area at the time with 302s dropped in, cheap go fast and lots of novas/other cheby's, not that many mopars where I was (that I knew of).

I remember dreaming of cars and girls in the 70s but didn't start drivin' until the 80s..............

Here is my first Charger, loved those slots..

Awesome! Im 32 and I remember as a little kid in the early 80's seeing as I would call them "Hot Wheels" because they had Hot wheels cars that had a lever that would raise the cars rear higher!!  :icon_smile_big: If I did not build my General Lee I always wanted a 69 Daytona all jacked up on 15x10 Cragars on the rear and some 14x8 Cragars on the front give it that look!!!
Sold my Charger unfortunately....never got it finished.

I was able to snag a number of good deals on used cars but by the time I could drive the best new vehicles available were the Aspen R/T or Volare RR & the Warlock trucks , I did eventually get a Warlock , the bank turned me down 1/2 dozen times when I first tried to get one but I bought one in 85 , always prefered the Warlock to the Lil Red as you could option big blocks , manual trans & 4x4 into a Warlock , mine was an E58 360 4spd 4x4
