Was going to take the 09 out

The weather was up in the 50s.  I decided to take the 09 Challenger out for a spin.  I got in and put my foot on the brake and pushed the button and the display says "fob not detected" .  So I check the cup hoder, were I keep the fob and there it is,but still the car won't start.  No problem!  I have another fob in my truck.  I get that, same thing.  I guess it is possible for both fobs to go out.  Nothing worked on them they wouldnt lock, unlock, or start the car.  I ended up taking out the Daytona, but I need to do something with the fobs.

They don't have batteries in them by chance do they?

Im guessing they do, but both go out at the same time

I hear you, but it would be easier to change a battery and try it then test the receiver.

They take little watch-type batteries. My wife has a '09 T&C, and the battery started going recently in the key fob.

Strange that they both would go out??
Too much of a coincidence that it would be a battery. Have your tried contacting your dealer? Perhaps they just need to be reprogrammed?? 

Give 'em a call. My dealer thought it was strange that the battery would have gone dead so soon (car has about 24000 on it), & was going to replace it for free. Some dumb simple procedure got it working again.

Odd why didt you just pop the button out and insert the key the old fashion way?

I know the owners manuual says you can do that but I did not mess with it, just took the Daytona out instead.
