Back in the day Chrysler offered rod bearings in sizes that were .001, .002, .003 over standard.  You could also have bought them in direct connection (have part number).

Can anyone tell me where I can find these special bearings sized .003?

Thanks.
Remember the average response time to a 911 call is over 4 minutes.

The average response time of a 357 magnum is 1400 FPS.

The Brgs were never offered OVER standard, but were offered UNDER by .001" , .002" or .003" for Cranks that were too small to take up clearance,
however,
if you require MORE clearance, bearings can be ordered with EXTRA clearance from Clevitte etc., by simply adding an " X" to the part #.

That UNDERSIZE(.001,.002,.003)Brg manufacturing process has long since been discontinued, because re-machining Bores smaller and resetting Brg crush became far easier more prevalet, than maintaining Brg stock to compensate for inadequate clearances.

What are you trying to do here .... Whats the problem....

Ok, then I meant under.

Dad's GTX spun a rod bearing and we're polishing the crank by hand and need some bearings to take up the .003 that the journal is now undersized.

We know this is not the best way to have the engine running, but we want to get it up and running while grandpa is still with us and then we'll do a full tear-down and rebuild again.

There are no Bearings produced anymore for a .003" UNDER crankshaft .....as far as I know..... anywhere....

IMO,
If it SPUN a Rod Bearing and you are "hand polishing" .003" , the Crank is already NOT SERVICEABLE and needs reground to the next undersize.
"Polishing" on a Crank.... should NEVER remove ........more than one ten-thousandth of an inch.
