Wow my favorite color combo on my favorite year.  It was so frustrating when the camera guy would shoot nothing but tar both times you spun the tires.  :brickwall:
Welcome to the site.  One powerful motor.  :2thumbs:
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

That's how mine sounded with the 509 cam so I'm guessing that's what you've got in there.

Thank you all for welcoming me to the site. It's great to be around people with the same interest.

I am more of a motorcycle guy and it was scary to take on a project like this since we don't know much about Mopar cars. At first I only wanted to try a new intake but it ended up going deeper than planned. I don't even know what's good or bad and looked around and google for a topend kit and found the Edelbrock 2087 Performance RPM Kit.

The kit indicated bolt on but believe me, it's far from bolt on. I had Headman headers before with stock cylinder heads and this kit doesn't fit since the plugs are slanted. My buddy had to modified the header to gain clearance by cutting and welding a couple of sections. I was glad that was achievable but didn't realize I needed adjustable rockers to go with the performance cam. Ended up getting adjustable roller rockers and shafts from Comp Cams. Thought we were good to go but ran into another snag with the installation of a new starter. We also had to modify the Headman header to get around interference with the starter. Put everything back and engine didn't fire since it sounded like compression leaks. Took every off again and fiddled with valve adjustment and went over timing and and luckily it started after reassembling.

Also, I thought the engine bay was beyond help and needed repaint. Luckily, after many hours of detailing it turned out solid and very decent. Also bead blasted all the removable parts and gave fresh coat of paint. All the old and original parts still work but I went ahead and replaced the following:
Water pump, thermostat, horn relay, starter, brake booster, master cylinder, Edelbrock 750 carb, and am sure a few other small things. Pretty much boxed up all original parts and stored them away. BTW, the frame id and engine id match and only with 62,000 miles.

Just curious if anyone here has this Edelbrock 2087 kit and if it was smooth sailing project or not? Just a couple of more after pics below. I don't really know how much more power it makes over stock but it seems stronger. It was a lot of work since I am not a pro but very happy right now the way it turned out. May be more video clips to come when we plan to test it again soon.

Lol...had the wiper motor blasted and couldn't decide to paint black or clear it. At the end, just wanted it to be in the background so I just painted the copper color. And yes, you're probably right that I should have just polished it and cleared it.

Fred

We forgive you ytcharger but don't do it again  :smilielol: :smilielol:
