Thinking of going to power brakes on my 69 Road Runner project. It originally came with manual brakes - I am wondering what I need to purchase to add power brakes. I know I will need the power brake booster and different master cylinder lines -  however, does a standard B-body require the linkage on the inside of the firewall?  or does it just use a push rod from the brake pedal to the booster?

You will need the linkage as the rod coming out of the booster is too short anyways. What the linkage effectively does is reducing the pedal travel and lowering the pedal force applied to the booster.

The brake pedal and attachment points for the rods are the same on PB and MB cars - pedal ratio is 6:1 on both of them. This is way too much leverage for power assisted brakes and therefor the linkage was introduced - it makes the pedal acting if it was a 3:1 ratio.

I'm wanting to change my 69 charger with manual drums front and rear to power disk front and drum rear.

I'm just starting the research project of trying to find a later model power booster and master cylinder to adapt to the the charger firewall and brake pedal.

anyone know of write-ups of this kind of thing?

Thanks!

Guys do a search here of "Power to manual brakes", when I changed out my power brakes to manual I posted pics of the parts and procedure. (My booster crapped out.)
It will be backwards of what you want to do but you'll get the idea.   :2thumbs:

i'm no expert , but as far as i know !!

68 -70 B -body    are different  to  70 E-Bodys

but think 71 B & E share the same   &  are year specific  :scratchchin: :popcrn:
