can i put 1973 440 heads on a 1969 383 motor

hey

i know you can but will i lose any performance . i have a rebuilt set of 1973, 440 heads . i forget the #'s rite now but when i go to the garage i will get them . i also have a 383 motor  with burnt valves . low compression , loss of power . i did a leak down and its the valves.
i'd like to throw  this set of rebuilt heads on that 383 .

without casting # it is hard to say for sure but the 69 & 73 should both have non quench type / open chamber heads so there will be no difference in compression ratio , & as long as you have adequate springs for the cam you will be fine

The '73 would probably be a 346 which is little different than the original 906...I doubt if you'd feel any performance difference in the seat of your pants; the plus is the 346 has harder exhaust seats, better with unleaded gas.
