I have no idea what the name of the big metalplate over the grill is ?

A have the plate, but I need a complete kit with all the parts for the holes, but where ?

I've always heard it just referred to as a front apron but I'm sure that isn't the correct name.

The factory calls it "Radiator grille cross bar".

I always heard it referred to it as a header panel, but others have called it a grille support.
The grille mounting hardware is available as a kit.

Yes John_Kunkel is correct. It is an "Upper Cross Bar". Here it is in my original '69 Factory Service Manual.
