Lets post our sequence #'s to see if we have sequential cars......

I was thinking it would be a neat idea to post our sequence numbers, to see if we have any cars "born together" from members on the board.
Any thoughts?

A year or 2 ago, on Atlanta Craigslist, there was a 70 Coronet R/T and a 70 Coronet base 4-door for sale as a pair. They guy bought the R/T as a project and later bought the 4-door as a parts car. They had sequential numbers, hard to believe, but he had pics posted of the VINs, so I saw it myself. I also read about two 70 Challenger T/A owners, that met at a car show, cars were the same color, and had similar options. They too were sequential cars. I think there is a member here with two 70 Chargers that are sequential, one is hemi orange and the other is plum crazy.

I was going to post part of MY sequence, but not sure what is the SAFE way to do so. It's not entirely impossible that one of us has the "next car" off the line, is it?
I just think it would be kind of cool to know.

That would be the last six digits of the VIN right? I would sure like to know what was built just before and after mine. How would these numbers be affected by Hammtrack (spelling?) vs St. Louis cars or other models built in the same factory?

I am guessing you want us to list our actual "sequence" number off our buildsheets, not the vin or order number. If so, this info. is only found on a buildsheet and denotes the car's number coming down the assembly line. This may not have anything to do with the vin (almost always a completely different number) and is not on your fendertag.

For the record:    my "sequence number" has one digit I cannot easily read but it is:  2/xxx250. The first number (2) indicates 2nd shift I think.

Anyone have "251 or even 249?  my car has a SPD of 314 or Friday,  March 14, 1969.

Dino

I think we may find some more interesting numbers if we post the build dates.  I don't have my buildsheet handy but I know the build date.  June 17 1969.  (617)
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

Dino,    your SPD of 617 does not guarantee it was made that day. No real way to know for sure and it COULD have been built that day but, it is what it is:  A "Scheduled Production Date", not a hard and fast date your car was built. It could have actually been built a little earlier or later but, no one really knows. The real build date is not on the buildsheet either. I wish I could say, absolutely, my car was built on March 14th but, I cannot. It did look like a "Friday" car with a few corners cut during production , though !!!!   :-)

Ohh...... I SO WISH I had a broadcast sheet!
I had Galen tell me about two cars born on either side of a 70 Sport Satellite that I used to own. That was cool!
Unfortunately, my 69 has nothing but a clear title. Hence why I thought about the VIN#.

I like that idea. How about starting right now. My scheduled production date is Dec 26 1968. I call it my Boxing Day Blaster. Were they really building cars that day?

Someone here has a 70 Charger 2 digits off of mine...not sure if he's been around though

My '70 has last 6 digits of VIN of "227821".....if I remember, his ended in "....23"

so it's not exactly sequential, there was one car in-between our cars

And if we're going with VINs, mines 193367.  Mine is a '69. Anyone here got anything close to that?

Mine is a 251, but it's a 68.

Whats even better is when you have 2 '69 Chargers with the SAME last 6 digits of the VIN....I have a few like this in the Registry.

lets see if those who are paying attention can figure that one out ;)
