leaf spring hangers....how come the right side don't seem right!

1973 charger. I got 2 different size hangers from left to right. Now granted this car is a total basket case otherwise but really?? So I'm replacing the leaf springs and I find the right hanger (pictured in rust) is 2 inch from center line of eye bushing to bracket and included a half inch of spacers(keystone lug washers) and the left (pictured in paint) was normal and measured 2.75 to center line of front eye bushing.
I general searched this and found a post on moparts with the very same issue. Only the confusing part about that was the answer the guy gave was that the correct bracket should be 2.25 to center line. Anyways, would like advice on do I just find a replacement for the one or do I get new brackets. Oh and also maybe a gander as to why people do this?

Frank Badalson has brand new ones that are 100% like the originals in fit and looks.

Like you say, the one on the right is wrong.  Someone must have screwed the original one up and they grabbed one off something else.

on a side note... the one on the left has a smaller bolt hole. 74s and laters got smaller bolt hole to the thicker eye spring bushing isolation

Dodge and Plymouth used 2 different brackets, I found that out the hard way on a 1970 Coronet using a bracket from a 1969 Satellite

The one on the left is a Dodge,   on right is a Plymouth.

Dodge has 1" longer wheelbase... and this is how they did that.

. Which begs the question, Should the hole be drilled out to allow the larger bolt. The leaf spring front eye allows for it. I was never even asked that question when I ordered them from ESPO. But wouldn't the eye bushing change for each?

or get another front spring hanger and sell that one to me since one of mines got is damaged by a guy what calls itself a BODYMAN!!! :brickwall: LOL

first, CONFIRM you really need to enlarge or not. Maybe I'm wrong on the size and really the size is correct for your application. Pic angle and hanger color can create an optical ilussion and I can be wrong

second, The front spring hanger bushing can be matched to hanger if not installed yet on spring.

So, you can either match the bushing to the hanger, or backwards if the hanger hole is smaller, being enlarged

Of course, if spring bushing got smaller kind inner bushing, and hanger is the big hole, you can not make ( or at least you shouldn't make ) a smaller hole from a big one, unless you like to fill up the hole with a washer or something like that. I wouldn't make it at least

The front eye bushings came installed on the springs. I got them from Espo. The bushing allows for the larger bolt which is 5/8. So I am inclined to drill the hole out larger on the one correct hanger I have. My problem remains to find a good replacement for the other, and yes Id be glad to send this other one  to you. I will warn you the mating surface is a bit warped as it was connected to the car with 2 sets of washers on each stud. I can easily bang it back close to flat though and seeing as its at least quarter inch plate it can take it. theres a guy selling 2 sets on ebay who took a measuring tape to both, on request, but I honestly cant tell if either is right for my app. They both look like the Plymouth hangers to me.

Just buy a new pair from Frank Badalson - Bill probably has them too. They are dead nuts to the originals and.......new!

Sorry Im  not sure who those people are but I internet searched the name  Badalson and came up with Roger Gibson auto restoration which did indeed specialize in mopars but they did not list them in the catalogue. Summit has A-body hangers and Mancini Racing has A-body hangers and a general google search only got me 1 ebay listing.  Is this seriously not an aftermarket part yet?

Ok something is up and I'm totally stalled on this part of my project.
Here are some measurements I got from my other cars.
My 71 charger has springer hangers that measure 2.25 to center of eyebolt, similar to the ones stated as being plymouth. My 74 Plymouth Satellite's measure 2.75 and my 74 dodger charger measure 2.75. So bottom line I'm confused when I talk to sellers(who number in the twos so far)
First of all I have no idea what was correct on this car originally since the previous owner mismatched them, and second I don't know what that half inch difference is going to matter.

That badalson websight is a mess and I still have not found the part there, but did find spring hanger bolts for $15 each which is pretty scary.
Firm feel has the part  re-popped but only list up to 72.

This stupid basic part is becoming very frustrating. I would think more vendors would sell this but that is not the case.
Any more guidance would be appreciated.
