Well just like the headline says. Did any 70 Challengers have 383's.  I am asking because over the years I have seen several that are supposedly numbers matching R/T cars with only 383 motors.  I thought they had to have atleast a 440 to make them an R/T. :shruggy:

I think the standard RT Challenger was 383 Magnun engine and 426 hemi or 440 Magnum was an option. You could also get a non magnum 383 Challenger but not in an RT. Something like that anyway.

Hey, I have a 71 Challenger R/T Covertible.  It's one of none. :yesnod:

472 R/T SE

Steve Pratt, up in Seattle owns or owned this '71 butterscotch Challenger, 383.  It's flat loaded up with options, a 2 tag car.

It's supposedly the last Shaker hooded car.

He's selling off his collection & I think this car was one of the first to go.  It's too bad.

Crazy part about it is I went to school with his oldest son & his wife was my den Mother back in Cub Scouts.  They too were from Hays, Ks.  At award time I'd always hear his name but never thought twice about it until one time I seen his oldest boy, Joe there.
