I call that a Fred job... Those are the kind of jobs I take 2 miles up the road to a guy named Fred...   Now if it were on my Charger, I'd do it myself.

Yea, thinkng about that. First estimate was $1650 to overhaul with them R&R it. , I did not think that was too bad.  It's just that I been intimidated by FWD and electronically controlled engines and transmissions. I know I am an Old Dog, but I like to think I can still learn a new trick.

Have you thought about getting one of those haynes manuals and looking to see what it says about it? Some of those are right on track, and places like autozone or advanced auto will let you look at the books if the plastic covering is already off of them.

These FWD transmissions are what I refer to as "Box Jobs". Every time a customer tries to R&R their own trans because "Holy sh*t, you want how much to pull it out!!? Can't be that bad, as I put a trans in Mom's 1966 Impala one time. Your trying to rip me off!!", and it usually comes to me on a hook with most everything removed and in a box in the trunk. Go for it if you like, but don't be surprized if it costs you more labor to wsork on it after you've attempted and failed.

Funny, as I get the same thing when I "Perform operations" on my PC by My computer guy...
" I have spent thousands of dollars and countless hours researching what works and what doesn't and I'm willing to share"
