I'm feelign a bit retro and ordered a set of 14" steelies that I'm going to put the factory hub cap on.

The wheels are sandblasted so I'm going to paint them before mounting the tires.

What color did stock steelies come in? Did they match the color of the car (white) or where they black?

Thanks!

Body color until some time during the 71 model year run....then they were all black.

Exceptions would be the A12's and the Steel Wheel T/A Challengers......and full wheel cover cars.

Thanks-also, what would be the tire size that would be appropriate? the wheels ar 14 x 5.......

F70-14 was the "good" size back then on a 14"

so if your fender tag doesnt have any designation for wheel cover, does that mean no hubcap? or??

billschroeder5842

Looks like I'll be going with the black wheels then. That seems to be easier.

Nothing on the tag for hub caps.....It'll be on the b/c sheet.
