 :iagree:  100%

I can watch VP knowing it's not a stellar movie and still enjoy the trip. Bullitt to me is just an incredibly boring, crappy movie with a few minutes of cool car chase.

Bullitt plays like a popular rock album that has one real standout hit on it and the rest is mediocre.

VP plays more like a classic rock album that lacks a standout track but you like to let the whole thing play from start to finish.

Bullitt probably came off like a better movie in 1968 than it does today (albeit still slow & dreary) because back then the gritty accuracy was a new thing.  It was a real selling point.  That kind of thing has since become completely ordinary in cop movies.

Whereas VP was such a film-school experiment that it seems kinda weird even now.  It'll never be done like that again.

Most car movies and in particular the earlier one's are pretty flat. I watch them soley for the cars.

Tomorrow is promised to no one.......drive your Charger today.
