olive green reproduction oil filter?

Is someone making reproduction olive green textured oil filters? I bought one on ebay and it sure looks like one but I haven't heard of any being made. The paint is too glossy, the texture is wrong, and it is an inch too short!

There have been quite a few different threads about green filters on Moparts.   A while back, I thought BE/A was going to reproduce them, but Mike Ross said the project got shelved.   Sounds like the one you have is back yard produced?

I really don't think it is a handmade filter. it's way too good to be one but it's too far off to be an original I think. I'll post some pics soon.

Here are some photos of this oil filter and the box it came in. It is shorter than others I have seen and the texture is more like severe orange peel than the grit that is in the NOS ones I have seen. Any idea what this is? It seems to me it would be real hard to make this as a one off piece in the garage.

I paid $577.00 for it with shipping. I will gladly sell it to you for that. Be warned however that Roger Gibson's opinion is that it is a reproduction. Thing is I have not heard about any others existing.

Looks like the knurled part where you grip it to install / remove is longer than the originals also.

thats a bigger lump than Im willing to part with for a wear item.

If that person would only get them out and into circulation for a Benny they would easily sell a few dozen or more. once word spreads that theres a possibliity of a filter listed as NOS may be a repop Id like to think nobodys buying for 500+ again.

I read a old post where a white one was being reintroduced.The orginal assembly line filter was called a gold line I think

This seems like a possibility to me also.   

The box looks too original to me, shelf wear and such to have been repopped. If it is a reproduction filter who would go to all the trouble to make a correct box also. It would be more believable as a repop if the box didn't fit the filter especially as you say the overall length of the filter is an inch short.
