Is this 8 3/4 for a B-Body?

Hello,

We picked up this 8 3/4 rear end many years ago from a guy who said it was from a 67 Charger, and from what I have gathered 67 B-Body rear ends will fit in 69 rear ends. But before we start to rebuild this rear end we wanted to figure out if it was actually the correct size to be from a B body. Do you guys think the measurement given lines up with what a B-Body 8 3/4 should be?

axle flange to flange should be ~59"  -  perch center to center should be ~44"

run the casting number from the third member.

That wont help for the housing size.

Measure across the axle flanges, the backing plate dimension is useless....B-body dimensions below.

'65-'67= 59 1/2" (44" Spring Centers)
'68-'70= 60 1/8"  (44" Spring Centers)
'71-'74= 63"        (47.3" Spring Centers)

I wonder why MA MOPAR thought they needed to widen the rear axle by a whopping .625"  ??

John posted the correct measurements for you to see. Now just take your measurements correctly and you'll know. If it is from a 67"B-body and you want to put it into a 69 B-body the perch will work and flange to flange is just 5/8ths" shorter total.
