The Hedman ELITE are the ones with the ceramic coating, thicker tubes & flanges, they are also more than twice the price of the STD 1/4" flange & thinner tubed Hedman's... I had a set of STD painted shorty style Hedman's on my RR before I did a bunch of improvements to the car, they fit great even on the angle plug Eddy heads, unfortunately I have a Unisteer rack & pinion in my car & the Hedman shorty headers come down right into the rack, they won't/don't fit now or any other mas produced brand of headers for that matter, other than the TTI's #383178c or Shumacher Tri-Y's both in the $690 range, are the only ones advertised to fit with angle plug Eddy RPM heads & the rack & pinion, with out going to a custom made set, that can be upwards of $2500+ if you can't build your own, & still could just as much as the TTI's or even more in the components & mandrel bent tubing, flanges, collectors, coatings, electricity for the lights, heater for the garage, welder, cutting tools & for a minimum of 8+ hrs to fab then 6+hrs of Tig welding... How much is convenience & your time worth ?

My Flowtechs are 18 gauge which is very thin and light (easy to bash with a hammer). They only needed fitting near one torsion bar. They do have the thick 3/8 flanges which is a must. The gaskets were garbage so, I replaced those. It was my first time installing long tube headers and I didn't want to bash and scratch expensive TTIs. I also wanted to see if the performance gains of headers were worth the drawbacks. They definitely are. I hope to get a year or two out of these and might go with TTI next time.
My 1969 Charger. RIP......Rest in pieces.

Is that like pushing shit uphill with a stick?

Fwiw here's a couple pics of my Flowtechs installed.
Note the almost non existant  gap between the headers and steering box.
They are nice though and crank the power up noticebly.

TTI says that "The 1-7/8" & 2" TTI's generally on the RB engines have larger dimples for straight plugs", because of the pipe angle on the rb-block is slightly more outward then down with a tighter radiusto get closer to the block, than the similar b-low deck blocks, my 1-7/8" TTI#383178c {chrome} for low deck 361-400 w/power steering & Eddy RPM angle plug heads, in a B-body, don't have any dimples any were... They are a couple years old now...

Do your exhaust hit the steering box when the engine is running?

Not now.
Initially it did, but we had to shim the engine mounts for a little clearance.
